C’est l’été, SALON DU SALON, Marseille, appartement avenue du Prado. Les personnages s’activent dans différentes pièces : dormir, se laver, manger, lire. Marc-Antoine Serra les a photographiés in situ et les photographies ont été exposées à la fois dans les pièces et dans les chapitres du livre. Le dernier chapitre contient un texte de Jean-Jacques Viton qui se trouve à la campagne ; le titre de l’exposition et du livre que vous tenez entre vos mains reprend celui d’un de ses livres précédemment publié aux éditions P.O.L.

“I WANTED TO LEAVE, BUT I DIDN’T MOVE”
It's summer, SALON DU SALON, Marseille, an apartment in the avenue du Prado. The characters move in various rooms: sleeping, washing, eating, reading. Marc-Antoine Serra photographed them in situ, and the photographs were exhibited both in those rooms and in the chapters of a book. The last chapter includes a text by Jean-Jacques Viton, who was then out in the country; the title of the show and of the book that you are holding in your hands is that of one his books published by P.O.L.

Who's moving? Who's sitting? What is a body reading? Washing? Eating? Does the light go up or down? Who's holding the camera? Who talked about beauty? About languor? Where is the arrow pointing?
